The degradation of the personal care products was evaluated based on the electrical resistance and fluorescence intensity. The degradation ratio of the personal care products was optimized by varying discharge conditions, including the treatment time, voltage and treatment temperature. Under optimized conditions, the electrical resistance and fluorescence intensity of the personal care products were reduced to approximately 78% and 82%, respectively. In addition, the degradation ratio of the personal care products using the optimized conditions was higher than those using the previously reported discharge conditions. Finally, the current optimized method was compared with the treatment method using only boiling, showing similar degradation ratio.
